RUG FASHION

As the weather changes with our progression into another Winter season, we also see how evolving trends are continuing to shape the industry and redefine consumers’ perceptions of our products. So what specifically are they looking for this season?

Berry Beautiful

Jaipur's Kala design in amethyst colorway
from the J2 collection. The J2 collection is hand knotted in 80-line Tibetan Weave. Made of handspun wool and viscose. Suggested retail is $1,540 in 5'6" x 8'6"

It’s no secret that color sells the product and for this Winter, berry colors are in full bloom. Berry shades from rich blackberry and grape to bold raspberry and cranberry take center stage.  Pantone, the color experts, has identified a myriad of beautiful new berry-inspired hues for home and interiors trends,

In our new Fall 2011 catalog, we feature many new designs in this stand-out palette such as Kala in amethyst from the J2 Collection. It's the perfect accent for a living space in need of a splash of color.

Dark Matter

Daisy Chain from Jaipur's Brio Collection  is hand tufted in China of polyester fiber. Suggested retail is $330 in 5' x 7'6."

One of my favorite color stories in rug design is back in vogue for this Winter – a deep ground color such as charcoal or dark taupe, accented by fun pops of bright color.

Many people are fearful to use an abundance of color when decorating and this trend allows them to keep their floor grounded in a warm neutral while incorporating new color families into their space.

I believe that a rug is the ideal piece to incorporate color into a neutral decorating scheme because many new popular price point designs are often a cheaper financial commitment than an expensive new sofa or set of dining chairs.

A perfect example of this growing trend can be seen in the bold hits of turquoise and green accenting Daisy Chain from our Brio Collection.

Bold is Beautiful

Kyoto from Jaipur's Traverse Collection.
Made of wool. Hand tufted in India. Suggested retail is  $299 in 5x8.

This season ushers in a new wave of bold floral and stripe patterns for the home. Pattern never really goes out of style but this season, daring large scale looks top many trendsetters’ lists.

Over-scaled designs can create a certain element of drama in a space and our customers love to create environments built around these beautiful statement pieces.

A large rug in a bold floral pattern can act as an ideal companion to highlight understated furniture pieces. One of our new introductions at the recent High Point Market was Kyoto from the Traverse Collection. This stand-out piece interprets a sophisticated, whimsically scaled floral  in high-low texture.
